Okay the beginning of this book was really tough and slow for me but it picked up eventually which I am very happy about.
I am glad they didn’t drag the Tory being bound to Lionel plot out because she is my favourite and I didn’t want to read a whole book with her being brainwashed. Also, Darcy and Orion are clearly the authors‘ favourite because why the hell do they keep throwing rocks into Tory and Darius‘ way when the only problem Darcy and Orion had was him being her teacher and therefore him going to jail (and rightfully so because a teacher dating his student is illegal and a misuse of power no matter how the student might feel about it in that moment). And now they could be together but Darcy is mad at him when Tory and Darius physics can’t be together for multiple reasons.
On the bright side I kind of started to come around for Darcy and Orion now, that he isn’t her teacher anymore. I liked the dynamic way better when he does not have this authority and they don’t have to sneak around.
I am really intrigued by Caleb and Seth. Generally I am shocked that I love Seth now because I was convinced that he was not redeemable. But turns out he is actually really adorable and loyal.

I really love how all of them grew together in this book and their dynamic.
The plot was insane, but also insanely good. There was so much happening. The villains in this book are true villains and I really hate them with everything I have. I truly felt like there is no way they can be defeated but there is hope.
And then the ending… Why is it always Tory and Darius? What do you mean he just gave his life to save Tory and he will die? I really don’t see how he can be saved but I also don’t know how the series could go without him.
Also wtf was that with the Pegasus hierarchy and their „accessories“? Who comes up with that? I am very distraught by that.

Enjoying the series, but can we end a book where things don’t seem so grim? Had to set it down at times because it seems like every time the rebels get an inch the enemy gets it back and more.
