I just could not finish this book. It was a slog. I couldn't tell the two sisters apart and I also hated Levi (? Is that his name, idk?). I wish it had gotten into why the one sister joined the cult. What exactly did it offer, besides vaguely religious speeches by the "hot" leader guy. Idk, I had higher hopes for this book and was sorely disappointed

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hmm. I had a hard time with this one. There were some really intriguing moments aaaaand some very, very boring moments. At some points I found the structure to be disorienting and I wasn’t always sure of the timeline or characters. It took me forever to finish, but I’m still giving it three stars since there were still plenty of scenes that caught my attention. Looking forward to my next read from Courtney Summers!

Lo Denham is used to being on her own. After her parents died, Lo's sister, Bea, joined The Unity Project, leaving Lo in the care of their great aunt.

But Lo knows there's more to the group than meets the eye. She's spent the last six years of her life trying—and failing—to prove it.

When a man shows up at the magazine Lo works for claiming The Unity Project killed his son, Lo sees the perfect opportunity to expose the group and reunite with Bea once and for all. When her investigation puts her in the direct path of its leader, Lev Warren and as Lo delves deeper into The Project.

she thought she knew about her sister, herself, cults, and the world around her—to the point she can no longer tell what's real or true.

Lo never thought she could afford to believe in Lev Warren

but now she doesn't know if she can afford not to.

Thank you, Goodreads and St. Martin's Press for a chance to read The Project!!

“Lust, Lev says moving to her, when it has conceived, bears sin. And the sin, when it is grown, produces death. He pauses, and looks at her as though she is a stranger. I upheld you like no other. You have betrayed me like no other.”

This book was truly amazing! I loved it! and let me tell you this author has no problem writing about the good, the bad, and the downright UGLY. I really didn’t know what to expect when I first heard about this book. This book has a very realistic feel to it. Man, I couldn't imagine living in the cult presented in this book. It's scary to think that it may be going on already. I really liked this book. I haven't read anything else by Courtney Summers but I plan to fix that! Happy reading everyone!!

This book didn't really live up to my expectations. There weren't a lot of exciting things in the book. I wish the ending was longer...

The chapters jump around a lot and make it more difficult to keep track, but the ending is as heart-wrenching as the ending to Sadie. Well done.
