A lot of the plot is repetitive and doesn't really make sense, but the twist on the very last page makes me want to read the second book despite it all

I like the ending. I really, really do. I just wish the pacing was a little better.
After the 50% mark the book was BORING. I put it down and picked it up multiple times to no avail until I finally finished it today.
Also, I wish we could have seen more of Kiva. Cause she was a very dull, bland self-insert (until the last page).
I also wish her relationship with Jaren took more time to develop. I felt that it was VERY rushed and VERY insta-love.

Okay the first parts dragged but once the trials started and more feelings were brewing between Jaren and Kiva, it picked up fast for me! 

THE ENDING!! screaming. 

As an MC, personally, I don’t find Kiva to be that amazing or unique. She’s kinda meh for me right now, hoping now that her true identity is revealed it’ll pick up more and we can actually get to know her. It felt like she was holding back in this book, for good reason now that we know… 

Jaren is interesting too, would love to learn more about his role and his relationships with his family. 
And peace love Tipp! He’s adorable!
