“So you’re right, you don’t need me fighting your battles. But if you’ll let me, I’d like to be standing beside you as you fight them.” - Jaren Vallentis

“Our scars define us. They tell a story of courage and survival. They tell of who we are at our deepest being, of the challenges we've faced and overcome.” - Kiva Meridan

I loved all of the characters, especially Tipp.
I really liked the black pages, that was a great media choice.
I called the plot that Jaren was the prince.
BUT KIVA BEING THE REBELLION PRINCESS?!?!??!??! EXCUSE ME?!?!?!? I THINK I'LL EAT MY HAT?!??!??!?

I will definetly read the other two books!!!!

Wow. I have been in such a book hangover since finishing ACOTAR & TOG - this has cured it! This has absolutely everything i could want in an opening novel to a romantasy trilogy. Kiva is not the stereotypical lead as she is a healer which i found refreshing and this first book is fairly light on the romance - heavy on the plot. THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON - in a good way. I was gripped on the story from beginning to end…..and oh my god THE TWISTS AND TURNS. I am so excited to explore more of this world in the 2nd book.
