I love Ruth Ware’s books. They’re an automatic read for me, and Imogen Church’s narrations are always spot on. Apologies for any misspelling of people’s names. I listened to the book so I’m not sure if it’s Gail or Gayle, etc.

Now. Thoughts:

I am SO GLAD there are no dead women in this book. I love mysteries and thrillers but lordhavemercy I am tired of dead women. I am ALSO tired of men who don’t listen to women - especially their wives - so I also fell half in love with Judah, who proved time and again that he’s a good man and an even better husband. Gail is also a lovely MIL and I appreciated all of the family elements a lot.

This book proves that thrillers can support women (and women supporting women!) AND be excellent - a thing I KNEW was possible but hasn’t been done very often. Cheers to you, Ms. Ware, and cheers to your ladies.
