I heard a passing reference to this book and it reminded me of how I read it when I was about 12, the same age Margaret is in the book. So I decided to give it a reread. Did it hold up after all these years? Well, it was not as entertaining now as it was then....and also, when I look back at my 12-year-old self....I imagine she was certainly shocked when reading certain parts! There were things I did not remember being in there! Since I've been a big reader since childhood, it is always interesting to me to occasionally pick up a childhood/middle grade novel that I read way back then, to see what I think now.
