first half of the book was excellent, however i feel quite dissatisfied with the ending. like other readers have noted, the synopsis did not prepare me for the content of the book, please do check the content warnings before reading.

Holy smokes!! That book was crazy. I could hardly put it down. I sparsely came up for air. I had to know what was going to happen.
This book is dark. There are lovable characters that you really do feel for and there are some serious bad guys that make you want to scream. And the ending is not a happy one. So while this book is not a feel good story, it is enthralling. I was very invested. There are trigger warnings all over the place! Every single kind of abusive. Verbal, physical and sexual. I wasn’t sure how my mom heart was going to handle it. There was one part in particular towards the beginning that made my heart break and I wasn’t sure I could keep going. But once I got past that part, I was hooked.
I really did enjoy this book. And I feel like people might judge me for it. Haha! But I stand by this review. The story is insane, the writing was well done, and the twists and turns are well done. If you’re in the mood for a tragic story. This is for you.

Really fantastic book. Throughly enjoyed reading but the ending just ruined it for me. I won't spoil it but it took a really great book and just left me feeling unsatisfied. Other than that amazingly written with complex and interesting characters.
