When I started reading this book I was like when is the action going to start but I said to my self keep reading that’s probably why it took me so long to finish.

Just decided to re-read this for fun. I remember why I liked it so much when I first read it: A smart, anti-hero protagonist (roughly the same age I was), magical crime investigations, and a female officer = great book for mini-me. That being said I probably won't be rereading the rest of the series

Finished listening to the audio book with my son. I enjoyed it very much. We're moving on to the second one.

I didn't love it when i reread it, but that's just because my preferred genre has changed since I first read this (like 3rd-grade lmao). That said! This book is so good and I'm disappointed about the Disney plus movie (even worse than the pjo movies and that's saying something oof.)

I adored this book, such a fun blend of magic and modern!

Different than I thought it would be, but fairly entertaining. I thought for a long time that Artemis Fowl was a traditional hero, and only recently found out he was a thief and could be considered the villain of the story. He's still a likable character if not a bit cold. He's also a bit too perfect and I have a hard time relating to that. His plans are interesting though and it is fun when he out-thinks his adversaries by planning several moves ahead. I liked it well enough to continue the series, but I hope for more depth of emotions in future titles.
