As with the previous three books in the series, this book is funny. There are a few sad moments. These books are always very strong in the dialogue and are fairly fast reads.

I had fallen out of The Thursday Murder Club with the second and third installments falling a bit flat for me, but thoroughly enjoyed the fun of the 4th! Touching detaillings of love and grief, with a fun cast and story.

This has everything I love about a good TMC book. We have all of our loveable cast of characters back in action, plus lots of new additions in this book (both within the Coopers Chase community and the criminal community). I love how even the bad guys in Richard Osman’s books are also still somehow loveable and charming (for the most part).

This book made me laugh out loud, cry lots of tears, and had me guessing right up until the end. By the end of this book, every separate thread of the plot manages to come together, but I didn’t see the final twists coming right up until the end. All of the signs were there but they were hidden in plain sight until just the right moment. It’s the perfect mix of being able to say you figured out the twist by the end but it wasn’t glaringly obvious what was happening. I just adore these books and will pick up whatever Richard Osman writes next.
