-0.5 stars for the narrator’s terrible Canadian accent, 4 stars for the poignant writing, particularly about dementia, and 0.5 for lines like “God cries every time someone lies to a Canadian”.

Had no expectations going in but it was such a lovely read, I will have to start at the beginning of the series and work my way through.

I am just such a fan of these books. I love the mystery element but more than that, I love the community of kooky and smart elderly people who are each other's ride or dies. Very fun and engaging and surprisingly touching.

For all its silliness and slightly twee moments, there is so much heart in this book. The way Osman tackles dementia, euthanasia and loss is really moving and I thoroughly enjoyed that probably more than the murder mystery.

A different feel to the others..with beautiful insights into grief and love that can only come from compassionate and very careful observation of what it is to be human.
