The retirees strike again! Classic Thursday Murder Club but with an exploration of growing old and having dementia that is remarkably beautiful.

In his afterword, Osman notes that his next book is not a Thursday Murder Club mystery, though this is not the last we will see of the team. In many ways, this book does feel like an last episode to a first season of a mystery series. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Some of the long standing issues and question get answered in this volume. We find out more about Ibrahim, and there is a resolution to the Stephen issue.
There are deaths and while many happen after page, some hurt quite a bit.
But, Osman's humor and love for the characters shines through. It was nice seeing Joyce being a bit like Elizabeth, learning more about Ibrahiam. It was a lovely read.

Another excellent read for this series .. there are many side stories of value and, in my reading, these add another layer of interest in the characters. Reading about older characters who have a world of living and more to offer is a delight .. sometimes funny, sometimes sad and sometimes very far fetched but always a good read.
In the fourth book, the stakes felt higher than ever. Without revealing too much, Osman proves he’s a master at crafting intricate plots while keeping the reader emotionally invested. Joyce’s diary entries remain a highlight, offering laugh-out-loud observations and revealing hidden depths to the group’s dynamics.
What I admire most is how the series evolves. The characters aren’t static—they grow, face challenges, and surprise us in ways that feel authentic. It’s rare for a mystery series to maintain such momentum across multiple books, but Osman does it effortlessly.
Now that I’ve turned the final page of the fourth installment, I’m left eagerly anticipating what’s next for this lovable, quirky group of detectives. Osman has a gift, and I can’t wait to see where he takes us next!

Another lovely addition to the series! Much more emotional and moving than the earlier installments, but still a great mystery with clever characters and writing. Eagerly awaiting #5 next
