I’m DNF’ing at 52%. I can’t. I am struggling to read this. I LOVED the first two books, but hated book three, it was so depressing. This seems a bit better than three but I just don’t care anymore. I read a review and know how it ends so I don’t have to continue. Blah. How annoying — the first two books were 5 🌟 for me.

What a ride!! I loved this entire series, and A Sky Beyond the Storm was the perfect ending.
Sabaa Tahir really puts her characters through it, truly no one gets out unscathed, and that’s what makes this one of the best, if not the best, YA fantasy series I’ve ever read. So many books in this genre lean toward happy endings for everyone, but this one digs deep into grief, sacrifice, and healing. It’s so well written.
There were moments in this book where I felt like it was dragging and thought maybe this could’ve been wrapped up in a trilogy. But then the last 40% hit and wow!! Every chapter delivered. It brought everything together in a way that made me realize the fourth book had to exist to give the story the depth and closure it deserved. I still can’t believe it took me this long to finally read this series, but I’m so glad I did.
And now that Heir is out and takes place in the same world 20 years later? I’m jumping into that immediately!
