If I could, I would give this a 4.5. Out of the 4 books in this series, I would place this one as my second favorite, just behind the first book, An Ember In the Ashes.
The middle felt a little dry but oh my the ending chapters really made up for it.
Although I disagree with how a lot of authors conclude character archs/stories, I agreed and was ecstatic with how our main characters stories ended, especially Helene.
Tahir continued to balance multiple POVs beautifully and I hope she writes more fantasy again soon!

The ending was
I really enjoyed the first two books, the third one was a drag, but this one was close to perfection. Although full of action, the plot did drag at times but what you receive instead is an amazing end to three beautiful characters’ story arcs. They made this book.
