overtly (if not, at times, unnecessarily) poetic in its explorations of humans, their art, their flaws, and particularly those their offspring perpetuate. i finished this book and sort of felt like, “what was the point of that?” but does there need to be one? and if there is, do i need to know it?

A beautifully written book which captivated me in parts. I loved the poetry and bird references throughout, and Nell's chapters when she is abroad. Some parts were difficult to read and weren't enjoyable - I do wish I skipped those pages.
