Colin gets a cameo. A creepy cameo.

I miss Colin.
*Sigh!*

This has got to be the most adorable volume of Fables.

My least fave volume, just because there was a lot of introduction to the next arc and nothing really happened to progress the story as we've known all along a war has been coming. But, I still absolutely love the characters and am so stoked they're on KU because I spent a fortune (in Aus) for the paperback comics.

Not a fan of the way the Arabian homeland Fables are depicted.

Ben read all of the Fable books aloud to me. He had different voices for all the different characters. The story was great, but the best part was listening to him do the voices of Snow White and the evil Goldilocks.

There were lots of scattered and somewhat uneven bits in this one. The stories around Red Riding Hood getting an updated look are nice and set us up for Ambrose taking more central stage. But the snippet of Rapunzel was even better. Any of the bits around the Adversary are harder to take, Hansel in particular. But the conflicting predictions of battle plans and results between the Snow Queen and Pinocchio went off pretty well. The setup with Blue and Rose with the flying carpet was nice, but the Santa Claus bit was a little annoying. And then there was the trip to see the North Wind, or as the cubs call him, Grandpa - and that was some of the best bits - including the further development of the cubs as individual characters. All in all, not one of the best volumes but still pretty good.
