This book is brilliant. The writing style was a little distracting for the first few pages, but then I was completely sucked in to the story. The descriptions are extremely detailed and provoke an almost visceral reaction. I really love this author's use of language to show the protagonist's state of mind.

I really loved the section in the middle where
Samantha joins the Bunnies and we see inside the 'hive mind'. The use of the name Bunny used for all of them really adds to the sense of unreality in this section.
. I would have loved for that section to go on for a bit longer, actually.

Overall I really loved this book- the critique of pretentious writing schools, the larger than life characters... all of it. The characters were all deliciosly flawed and even the Bunnies are surprisingly nuanced. Lots of fun.

It was confusing as hell, the ending disappointed me slightly but it kept me invested to the last page. Overall enjoyable read but overhyped.

I love this book as an adult for the same reasons I loved Alice in Wonderland as a child.
It's like a fever dream. Or a drug-induced hallucination. Bizarre, twisted, and eerily magical in a way you find a possessed doll or a fairytale retold as a horror.
Essentially an evocation of loneliness, insecurity, female desire, and the blurred lines between imagination and reality, I think this book is quite brilliant.

I think I liked it. Just like I think I understood what went on in this book. You know what, this was just a big fever dream so maybe I didn’t get anything. At all.🐇

I don’t know how to capture the qualities of this book in a review. You had to be there. Holy. Wow. I don’t study literature anymore but every fiber of my body is twitching to write a ten-page analysis. This book is a great read for women in academia.

That’s it. If I ever see a book recommended on TikTok again, I’m taking it off my TBR no questions asked. This is hands down one of the worst books ever written.

I could write a proper review for it, but I don’t respect it nearly enough to grace it with an intelligible little essay.

Mona Awad really saw those tumblr photos of people dressing up while wearing animal masks and said “Hold my beer, I can rip this off and turn it into utter shite.” Well, she did. Congratulations I guess?

The book drags on and on and on, with no plot and no vibes. Literally, gives nothing but utter boredom. A better writer could turn this premise into a good story maybe, but not this one. I can’t believe someone wrote a Mean Girls fan fiction and managed to butcher it this terribly.

Save your time, and especially your money.
