It was fine, but not for me. I like a cozy slice of life but in Dinosaurs I found the characters difficult to connect with. The whole story felt like a series of bullet points. And speaking of which, I was becoming irritated by the the punctuated, one-word or fragmented sentences by the end. Choppy. I didn’t care about Gil and  found him weak. Maybe I’m more of a Lane than a Sarah.

I loved this book. The most unique thing about it is that each chapter is named after a bird that lives in the Sonoran desert, and each bird is a metaphor for the challenges that face the protagonist. The birds are a great way to learn about the main character as he learns about his new home in the desert. I strongly recommend this to anyone, and can't wait to reread it soon.
