The first two or three Christopher Moore books I read completely hooked me and I jump at whatever one presents itself at the library. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Island of the Sequined Love Nun nearly as much as the others I've read.

The beginning was fairly auspicious, but there was a long lag in the middle that kind of felt like a slog. Maybe it would have benefited from a more thorough edit.

I was secretly hoping Catch would make another cameo in this book, but since I hear Roberto appears in other Moore books, I think I can be okay with that.

Tucker Case is, well, not the most dependable guy ever. He has a bit of a problem with drinking and women and his only friend is at the end of patience with him. This book, this story, is as hilarious and perfect as any written by Christopher Moore. It has a great humorous foundation, but there is suspense and a fast paced plot as well.

Everyone else wants to meet movie stars and famous singers. I would like to meet Christopher Moore and have lunch with the guy. He can tell stories like no one else in the business.

The narrator, Oliver Wyman, is a perfect match for Christopher Moore books. To be fair I have only listened to this and the Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, so the other narrators may do a great job too. I had to pull over in the car a couple times because I was laughing so hard.

Certainly not my favorite Christopher Moore, but quite entertaining nonetheless. It wasn't really a page turner.

I'm kind of sorry that I read this one out of order, actually. I kept getting thrown off by Tucker being the player. LOL I did love getting the backstory on Roberto, though. :-)
