This was a real challenge to get into at first. I definitely needed to stop around page 75, start over again while taking notes on each character. Reading the book jacket also helped. It was really interesting and I cannot wait to discuss it during our JA bookclub meeting next week. It was a wild ride to be sure. I'm still not sure what I thought of it, but I enjoyed it a lot. I have a feeling that after discussing it I will have a new appreciation for what I read. I need to read some reviews as well, while it's still fresh in my head.
This is one of those rare magical books that checks all the boxes. It has an impactful message that is meaningful to today’s current events; it has great character development; and the story is charming, whimsical, and breathtaking. This is a new favorite book!

Took me a while to decide what to rate this one. Probably a 3.5 rounded up to 4. I loved some parts but found myself skim reading a few times. It wasn’t the easiest to follow and definitely best enjoyed when reading in longer sittings. Really loved the concept overall though!
