This was an ode to books and the hope and the universal connection through time and space that books are. It is a remarkable story exceptionally well written and it confirms that Anthony Doerr is one of my favorite writers of all times. At times I had to stop myself and take a breath and just enjoy the moment of submerging myself into the stories that make up this novel. It is going to be one of the very best books I have read this year and ever.
