I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. I feel like the main characters subverted a lot of typical fantasy tropes, for example the FMC being territorial and protective and being the one on the Initial bad side and the MMC being “good”.
They had their interesting flaws and through out their relationships lot enemies to friends to lovers they help each other work through their issues, especially Dianna working with Liam and his trauma. I feel like there was a good highlight of mens mental health and brought awareness to it which I liked.

Plot wise and world building I enjoyed. I do think that some things needed tightening up and explaining as there was a lot of telling us that this is the way the world is because it is and no other logical reason. And things kept getting thrown in. But on a less technical note is was easy enough to follow and I enjoyed myself and had a lot of fun reading this story.

I just couldn’t get into the writing. Cool idea, but I don’t think it was executed as well as it could have been. Felt like it just needed an editor.

I love this book and these characters so much. The communication between our main characters is so good. The banter is amazing. World building is woven in so well into the story. The ending is shocking and the story is just so great!

I love this series so much!!! This is a reread and everything came flooding back. I do think it takes a little time to get into the book because it’s urban fantasy, with modern lingo and Dianna as an FMC may put people off but I bloody love her. She’s so morally grey and villainous but deep inside, there are feelings and characteristics that add to the complexity of her character. It’s also refreshing to see new creatures. Deffo try and keep going. Love the romance and relationship so much, the slow burn is so satisfying 😭😭😭 My fav romantasy series still stands, book 2 is where it’s at tho, so I cannot wait.

I'm mad I waited so long to read this book! It was truly amazing and had all the aspects you could hope for in a fantasy romance - morally grey MCs, Epic Battles, Magic, Suspence, twists and a satisfying amount of female rage. A bit of a slow start but when it gets going it does not stop! I hope to never experience in my LIFE the betrayal Dianna experiences in this book 😟...and that ENDING.... 😵. I..AM...SPEECHLESS. 😩🤌🏽

I don’t really do star reviews anymore but this book gave 5 star energy. The vibes were 5 stars idc what anyone says. I absolutely devoured this book and made an exception for it. It was exactly the Romantasy book I needed. True enemies to lovers, good banter, morally grey characters with soft moments for their family or love interests. I ate it up. But after that cliff hanger there may be some amber on amber crime. Running to the second book now which I hear will destroy me in a new way.
