Okay, I NEED to talk about The Book of Azrael because I just… I cannot. I seriously wish I had read this sooner. I mean, WHY did I wait?? This book is amazing. Truly, absolutely amazing. The world-building? Chef’s kiss. It’s unique. It’s different. It’s not like anything I’ve read before, and I love that. The author just built a world that feels alive, dangerous, magical, and real all at once.
Now, the characters. Oh my god, the characters. Especially Dianna she is sassy, clever, badass, and I LOVE her. I cannot get over how much I adored her. And Samkiel. His protectiveness over Dianna? Chef’s kiss part two. I loved every little thing about their dynamic. The tension, the banter, the way they interact, it’s perfect. And the rest of the characters too! The friendships, the bonds, especially the bond between Dianna and her sister… I cannot. My heart. That was everything.
And the ending. THE ENDING. I did NOT see that coming. Like, seriously, I was not ready. My jaw was on the floor. I love a twist, but wow. Just… wow.
Yes, it took me a little while to finish, but not because it wasn’t good, just life distractions, but honestly? I could have powered through in a weekend. I was so invested. Overall, this is a solid 4 stars for me. I cannot wait to rea the next one. Highly recommend. Seriously. Go read this book. You will not regret it.
