I got this recommendation from a very good friend of mine over on Bookstagram you know who you are, but hi, went in to this book, not expecting to love it, but not expecting to Haidet, but I can say this book was better than I ever expected. I am so happy
I liked the overall message, but the negative weight talk from the MC, her family, and peers was really aggressive and started on page one. The ending brought it around, but I think I was only able to finish this book because I’m much further ahead on my self acceptance journey than the 17 year old MC.
Very recycled plot—”I bet you can’t get a date with ___.” That said, I liked the PCOS rep and decided to hang in there. It was decent, I was just thinking this was a 4-star read and about to look into everything else this author has written when … “it” happened. A major, book-ruining, continuity issue occurred.
As already stated, this book was centered around a bet … nearly right when it opened the terms of the bet were laid out and then they were described in this way throughout the novel … until they weren’t and all of a sudden, AFTER the bet was over and original terms were once again, discussed, the bet was suddenly being referred to as an entirely different bet. Obviously this is lazy writing, it’s poor writing and it demonstrates that the author has no care for the quality of work they produce so, ended up being very disappointed. Definitely no longer have a need to read more of this author, which is a shame since they had that ‘disability representation’ going on and a relatable female lead. So frustrating.
High school setting.
Curvy female lead.
PCOS representation.
Bullying.
Body-shaming.
Do not recommend unless you don’t care about continuity.
2 stars for “disappointing”.

You're telling me that you dont want people judging you cause you're "fat" (in case you missed the first 1346 times she mentioned it) but you're chasing someone for purely superficial reasons just cause he's literally hot? Be so serious. Also they had 0 things in common so pls explain why she would even want him?? Not only that but why are we pushing the agenda that curvy girls aren't comfortable/confident in their own body? You're just feeding into the stereotype when it isn't true at all and makes me sick. Most curvy girls I know are literally the hottest beings to walk this earth.
The only people that want to be her "friends"are other curvy girls. Bro what
