As a plus size woman, I loved the idea of a book with a plus size FMC, but being reminded every third sentence that she hates herself and feels unworthy of love because she’s fat is too much. Then at 41% the author dropped an ableist slur, so I’m all set.

This young adult rom-com is just so good.   Rory is such a great character, and I feel her story.  As a 50+ woman it is sad that I can still recall High School drama to this level.   I also highly recommend listening (or reading) the author’s note—it just hit my feels.   In fact it gets the last star simply for the author sharing her reason for writing this.
