Cute
This was a cute read…. I wish I had a book like this when I was in high school to read. I do wish the drama was played out a little longer. But other then that this was really cute and I can’t wait to check out the other books from this series!!

Cute little YA story about a HS relationship. It’s a cliche plot and a lot of predictable moments but still fun.

Sweet!
This was a sweet read! I feel like more detail could have been added in to the story though. I really enjoyed reading a story with a plus size main character because that doesn’t happen often.

This book was cute. A funny and lighthearted read over spring break! It focuses on a senior, Rory, as she struggles with having confidence and body positivity as a curvy girl. When “Mean Girl Merritt” makes a bet that she can’t get the quarterback to ask her out to homecoming, Rory accepts the challenge. However as she continues it she realizes what a mistake she has made and how to come to terms with that. She had a great character development and through the people she meets, she begins to realize her self worth and that her size doesn’t define her. This book is an ode to finding yourself and a story that reminds us that we are all more than our biggest insecurities. HOWEVER, I’m not going to lie some parts were CHEESY, and could’ve been written better… The plot was also SUPER predictable like within the first 5 chapters I knew what would happen…I still finished it to see how everything would turn out though. So overall, a cute read I started on my train ride… (since it was on prime reading) Not super deep, but this book definitely has some important themes.
I had so much fun, it talks also about important topic and that fatphobic and body positivity! Joyce Oben as narrator was phenomenal! Her voice was so comforting. I'll definitely check out other books of the series!
It was cheesy but also really cute, I enjoyed reading the book. Rory is over weight because she PCOS, which I’m glad there’s a book out there mentioning it because not a lot of people know what that is. I really felt bad for her, she’s got the typical mean girls at school making fun of her weight but then she also has her mom who’s so weight conscious and doesn’t understand what’s she’s doing to Rory mentally by always talking about her weight and making her go on diets.
The book is body positive and great for young readers who are struggling to love themselves. The romance between her and Beckett was just too cute, he’s really sweet and also another person who doesn’t want attention for his looks and social status.
I just didn’t like that she got bullied from most of the school but she was the one who got in trouble. Sure he got embarrassed but what they all did was worse.

I borrowed this on KU but DNF'd on the first page. Why does her mother, who is a health teacher, not know that teenagers don't get regular periods? Why would she automatically assume because her daughter didn't want BC and didn't have a regular period it was because of pregnancy? Especially when you're kid is saying "I haven't even had sex" ffs.
Sorry, but I have no need for someone so absolutely idiotic that she clearly doesn't understand teenage, female biology. And who would allow her in a school to teach their kids? Not to mention that makes her a pretty horrible mother for not believing her kid and not rushing her to an actual expert to have it looked at before assuming pregnancy. FYI: it's clear it's either endometriosis or PCOS, but sure, let's go with idiotic, "health teacher" mother for $500 Alex.
