A startlingly beautiful book about a young person falling in love with flowers. Delightful for adults and children.
This book walks the reader through how you can experience a flower with all five of your senses. I loved the bright illustrations in this book and how they helped tell the story. I think this book could be used in younger classes to learn about your 5 senses and could also be used in older classes when talking about making observations.

Now being on the Caldecott committee, and learning so much more about illustration, going back and re-reading this, I absolutely view it differently and see so much more in it that is distinguished.
Magnificent Illustrations. Loved most of the words, It felt a little off towards end.
The illustrations are so beautiful I’m willing to bump up the review a full star. 3.5 stars for story, 4.5 for the book as a whole

Have You Ever Seen a Flower? was part of our Mock Caldecott yesterday so I spent some more time with the text today via Hoopla. The novelty wore off on day two.
I was drawn in by the vibrant illustrations, but it was the book's ability to get you to slow down and use your senses that made me love it.
