It's so good! It took me while getting into it but once I reached a certain point there was no turning back. Danielle directs the story in such a clever way. Things that happen in this book will eventually come back in book number three. Characters are complex and there is no black and white. It's a slow burn that's for sure but the love to the characters is meant to last.

I enjoyed it and it kept my attention. I did find that it ended abruptly to me. I checked the next book in the series, and it doesn’t appear to follow these characters. It feels like there is still more of the story to tell. Still good!

The premise had so much promise. I was excited to read an adventure on the seas. That is not what this was. The ending was a slow fizzle and feels like it ended awkwardly. The friendship with Lydia felt forced and it was clear she was just a plot device. The FMC, instead of being the focus and a strong, independent person all on her own, ended up being led around by the men surrounding her. Maybe it was the fact she was a teenager, and I get that. Potentially might have been better with an older woman as the FMC. In the end, I don’t hate it, but it is forgettable.

I’m excited to dive deeper into Marcus and Teriana’s world and see where the story goes
