“Beartown” (first in series) should be read first.
This is again gritty, heavy, and emotional. Not quite the level of foul language as “Beartown”.
This series is addressing very tough subjects from different angles. Quite insightful.

Wow this was a pretty wild ride and I’ve grown so attached to some of these characters! There were soo many lines in this that I wanted to underline! I love all the kids so much, but I wish we got more of their povs in this book rather than a whole bunch of politics. It lowkey took way too long before a hockey game was even played and I wasn’t a huge fan of this book’s pacing. Fredrik backman’s writing is very distinct and I like it for the most part but because it’s so unique, it kinda gets repetitive?? Like I kinda need a break from it now 😭.
But I do just love this whole story and this town and setting and I like getting to know about these characters’ lives. There were some chapters where my jaw was dropping multiple times because of all the little twists and everything happening in this book. I’m very keen to read the next one in the series! Just want these characters to be okay 😭.

I loved this one almost as much as Beartown (#1). This novel followed a similar patter where it started out very slow and then builds up to a faster and faster pace at the end. This one focused a bit more on the internal worlds of the characters, and there was one character who connected everything but he was a bit of cypher....so that character/part of the book was the only thing that I did not appreciate. I hope there will be another book in this series.
