this book was fine. i know things were different for women back in the 1800s but the whole time it felt like the main character was griping about something. it didn't feel like she ever had control of anything in her life. she was selfish, yet couldn't make a single good decision for herself. the ending wasn't that satisfying either to me.

i think this book would appeal to people who like frankenstein, or natural history. i'm not fond of either.
