Breathtaking and maddening. A story that pulls you in and buries you. In-depth characters that are compelling, lovable, and hatable. The immense anger Clarke (and to a lesser extent Henry) evoked in me is only testament to how skilfully he has been written. I adored Mary as a POV character; she is flawed, and passionate, and determined. A truly touching story that captures that essence of Mary Shelley’s original work. As someone who has loved Frankenstein since my teen years, this book has captured that spark; it not only masterfully carries on the legacy of Shelley and Frankenstein, but brings the story seamlessly into the modern world. I adore this book, and I can’t wait to read it again.

Wow, this was fantastic, particularly for a debut. The start was slower than I would have liked, and I nearly gave up on it, but I'm so glad I didn't. I couldn't stop reading it and loved so much of it.
