Having first fallen in love with Frankenstein as a sophomore in high school and reading it several times since (in college and for fun), I find myself now often looking into fiction like this that is about others in the family.

I found this book an absolute home run! Mary is spectacular, and Henry makes me want to smack him. Their endeavors into science were extremely well done, especially for the era in which the novel is set. At times, it felt like Mary Shelley herself had written the book...it was THAT good in comparison to the original story.

Now to hand it off to a few other scholars who love Shelleys original as much as I do so we can discuss!

Not really what I expected- Maisie is barely present and Mary spends most of the book forced to work with a pair of awful men so the sense of adventure isn't really there :/ the Creature also
doesn't really do anything, but at least it was a cutie pie
