PNR Erotica?
3.75 stars For Now.
I put this on my Read 2022 shelf. Even though I have already read it, I just realized I have a ton of this series I HAVEN'T read!
I remember enjoying this and the mc's names. I know there were some steamy hot sexy times.
But I don't remember enough to go into the next book in the series.
I love PNR and add to that 'Detective/Mystery'! Yep. I will be rereading this in September. Then I can read more of the series.

I don't know if I just ran out of steam on the sexy books, or this wasn't just my style, but I wasn't all that interested in the characters or the outcome, and while the mystery was somewhat interesting at first, the story wasn't compelling enough to continue on. This might be up someone's alley but I'm just gonna move along.
Dnf 52%. Over it. Boring. So much going on, yet nothing that I came for.
I cannot believe this series is so popular since it's so badly written! The story and plot are pretty good for a paranormal romance but everything else was really bad imo. I really didn't like Sydney at all and the whole relationship between the MCs didn't feel very real to me.
The way the Author had to plug adjectives into every sentence was so jarring and in some cases, words were used incorrectly. Honestly, there are so many better paranormal romance series out there, don't bother with this one!
Oh yeah, I decided to give the second book a shot as it got better ratings but had to stop very early in the Audiobook version (about 45 mins in) when Kade and Sydney ended up "healing" Luca by Yeah, so if that appeals to you, then go right ahead with this series!

When a body washes up, Detective Sydney Willows plans to get to the bottom of the strange rituals that were performed on the victim. Sydney knows this is a a case that most likely will be taken over by the paranormal unit, but she is not willing to let it go without a fight. Of course she had not expected to have to deal with Vampire Kade Issacson. Everything about him exudes sensual cravings that Sydney is intending to deny, she knows the feelings is mutual but she wants to focus on the case.
Kade doesn't know what it is about Sydney, but he plans to make her his. He has warned off everyone she is off limits, the problem is she doesn't listen to anything he tells her to do. Now that she has become the target for the killer they are hunting, Kade plans to keep her closely by his side, in his bed, and forever in his life but the headstrong woman is leading him on a merry chase.
I thought this was a fantastic kickoff for an exciting series. I loved Kade, he is sultry vampire in it's finest. Sydney is a handful and you love it, it keeps Kade on his toes. Can't wait to read the next book.

1.5 stars. I didn't like Sydney. She was stupid and annoying. I am all for strong heroines who can take care of themselves but shouting about being able to take care of yourself while constantly needing rescuing isn't it. Also ignoring good sense, refusing help from super strong paranormals when you are a human chasing after a super strong paranormal killer does not make you strong it makes you a flipping idiot. The writing/romance was kind of cliche too.
I have had this series on my to-read list forever. While I wasn't let down per se, I wasn't elicited by the first installment either.
