Interesting, but the description of the author's life felt braggadocios and unrealistic.

This guy sucks đ
Iâm not quite sure how to review this book as it is exactly what it says on the tin but wowâŠthis author is deeply unpleasant and quite outdated in many of his points. As an educational book, it should only be read with a very critical eye as the author has a tendency to cite outdated information, unfounded theories and just plain sociopathic opinions. Which obviously shouldnât be surprising but it is disappointing to see a neuroscientist citing unfounded and misogynistic theories about evolutionary psychology or postulating that people in Palestine, Sudan or American inner cities may be genetically more violent.
I also couldnât help but question the authenticity of his supposed self reflection. He was almost saying âyeah Iâve treated all these people like shit but I have treating-people-like-shit disorder so you canât get mad at me.â
Overall, I still found this to be an interesting read but I had to acknowledge the deep unreliability of the narrator.

Not necessarily the most well written book but I learned so much from reading it. The nature/nuture argument, very detailed descriptions of brain chemistry interwoven with Fallon's personal story. A very entertaining and educational read.
