It was an okay children's book about seeing people in a new light and the power of Christmas, not my favorite.

I'd never actually read this one before, and I'm so glad I did! Short and sweet, no wonder it's a classic! And now I'm really in the mood for all things Christmas. :)

A good solid classic Christmas story to return to over and over again. Who doesn't want the Christmas story to touch every life?

I read this with my kids and was tickled to find them asking questions about the Christmas Story and looking at Christmas a bit differently as well. This did feel a bit dated in spots, but for me was an excellent Christmas-time story and was great to share with my kids.

I love this short story because its funny but also poignant. For adults especially, it points out our tendency to judge instead of reaching out to the least of these. How much more did the widow give with her one penny? How much more the Herdmans with their Christmas ham?

I originally read this book when I was in middle school, and loved it. As an added bonus, my class got to see the play of this book, as well. That's probably what made me start trying to read books before I see them adapted for the stage or big screen. I decided to listen to the audio book since the holidays are coming up, and to give me a refresher of this wonderful book. It was just as sweet and heartwarming as the first time I read it. This book might become a yearly staple for me to start reading to my daughter for the holidays.

It's been years since I read this book. I just finished reading it to my kids and I couldn't keep it together.
