I’ll Leave You With This by Kylie Ladd

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

“But Daniel had never been a particularly predictable boy. […] Daniel was just Daniel, unique, complete.”

I left it so long to write a proper review for this book because I loved it so much that it was hard to put into words. My favourite thing about Kylie’s writing in all of her books is that her characters feel like real people, there is no one without flaws - everyone is complicated and dealing with their own issues, so sometimes they fall behind on looking out for the other people we see in the books.

That was a big recurring theme in this book, it seemed as though Daniel was the glue holding his family together, and without him all the sisters really struggled to be there for one another. Even by the end of the book you’re left with a few things that you’re wishing the other sisters knew or discussions that you’re hoping you could be a fly on the wall for.

Another recurring theme was that of sacrifice, and also the cost of that sacrifice. Whether that be sacrificing your happiness for someone else’s, your sanity, your health, or your heart.

I think that’s a big thing that all of the O’Shea’s have in common - all of them are so willing to help the people they love even if it costs them.

I could not get enough of this book and I loved it so so much!
