i put a spoiler warning on this review, but this is a second warning because i say blatant huge spoilers in this review so seriously get out if you don’t want to spoil anything!!!
i enjoyed this much more that the first! since i had a better understanding of the allomancy and all of the characters, it was just all around a better experience! the plot of this one was intriguing, seeing the aftermath of what happens in book 1 and how the characters are responding and adapting. this book was pretty politics heavy, but also with all of the POVs it didn’t feel too slow or boring.
vin’s character development in this one was so interesting! she is way more confident in her abilities, and it turns out she’s way more powerful of a mistborn than we thought.she has a random love triangle type thing with elend and his BROTHER in this one that was not expected. i love elend, but i felt myself being like wait maybe she should be with zane because he understands her more. but also zane had something evil in him bc what do you MEAN:
“Then he reached up to his chest, feeling the space between two ribs, right above where his heart thumped. There was a large bump there. There always had been. He didn’t think about it often; his mind seemed to get distracted when he did. But it was the real reason he never wore cloaks. He didn’t like the way cloaks rubbed against the small point of the spike that stuck out of his back between his shoulder blades. The head was against his sternum, and couldn’t be seen beneath clothing. “It is time to go,” God said.”.
brandon what do you mean “the head”? i’m still thinking about this a couple days after finishing because i need to know. plz if you have theories or can explain that, i wanna talk. i feel so bad for zane. rip buddy. i’m glad that vin and elend are happy and together but also i’m scared because it seems a little too good to be true. there’s still a lot of books left, lots can happen!!
i knew something bad was going to happen when she found the well of ascension. i think the next book is going to be so good, assuming the plot is going to be what i think it is. also elend being mistborn now will be such a fun addition to the story!! i still fear for everyone’s lives and i am so excited to continue the series!

Fue el libro en el que me di cuenta de "la formula Sanderson". Es asi:
- Empieza con una escena de acccion. Esta escena puedes escribirla al final, porque realmente no tiene nada que ver con la trama. Pero engancha al lector al principio.
- Durante las primeras 100 paginas recuerda todo lo ocurrido en el libro anterior a traves de los pensamientos de los protagonistas o descripciones.
- La trama tiene que avanzar de forma uniforme, cada capitulo mueve un poquito hasta acabar el 80% de la trama.
- En las ultimas 50 paginas comprime el ultimo 20% de la trama para acaba el libro con intensidad.
Y esta es la formula exacta de cada uno de los 3 libros de Mistborn y sospecho de otros libros de este autor.
En este libro en particular la trama se centra en un nuevo personaje. Que no añade demasiado al mundo y son muuuchas paginas.
Tambien muuuuchas paginas se dedican a repasar todo lo que paso en el libro anterior. Creo que la mejor forma de leer este libro es saltarse las 100 primeras paginas. Realmente no pasa nada y es mas una repeticion del anterior que otra cosa.

Zane, que no es mas que una perdida de tiempo, podrias eliminarlo y tampoco pasa nada. Lo unico que aprende de el podria aprenderlo con 300 paginas menosTambien muuuuchas paginas se dedican a repasar todo lo que paso en el libro anterior. Creo que la mejor forma de leer este libro es saltarse las 100 primeras paginas. Realmente no pasa nada y es mas una repeticion del anterior que otra cosa.

It was a very slow read. I really enjoyed the world building but felt like the story was going nowhere. It eventually picked up during the last 100 pages and the slog was made well worth it!
