Loved reading this beautiful story! I want more of Skyler and Kip! Gosh, those two are gorgeous!

Legacy, PSU#4 and Black #4 really should be read together, they can be read separately, but to get the best reading experience I would suggest reading them together.

Skyler and Kip are the main characters in Black Number Four. This book follows along in conjunction with Legacy and fits in with that storyline, but only gives us Skyler and Kip's POV. This book gives you the insight into why Kip came to PSU, the thoughts swirling inside his head regarding Skyler and Erin and also extra insight from Skyler regarding the mess she's gotten herself into leading up to and after the poker tournament.

Black Number Four has me singing...

"I'm so (caught up)
Got me feeling it (caught up)
I don't know what it is
But it seems she's got me twisted..."

Caught Up by Usher popped into my head as I finished Black Number Four. I am all twisted, turned, and rollercoastered. I did what I call the "Director's Cut" version of this book, I went with Kandi Steiner's suggestion and it was epic.

It all started with my desire to read her Palm South University series which is actually written after Black Number Four but as a prequel and a multi-person POV of many of the characters in these pages. I found I got the better deal. Reading the PSU series and then tackling this book while reading Legacy was a much cooler experience (I think).

Black Number Four is an extension of a family I already love. It was hard at first because I knew it wouldn't be easy. I knew what was coming and I knew it would hurt. BUT I also knew, in this case, I wasn't going to be left out in the rain. Black Number Four is a stand alone. No worrying if you get an HEA. Its there for the taking, you just have to go after it.

All those worried about not knowing a thing about poker, don't worry. I made it just fine. I've never played a single hand and I had no trouble enjoying it. Though, I agree witb Skyler where are the half naked dudes with giant checks for the lady poker players!?! We should totally call Vegas out on that...or we could leave it to a roll of the dice...

So I was supposed to like Kip, right? That was the idea? Well he was such a major asshole, and even the parts that Kandi Steiner tried to cloth in ~*feminism*~ made him look douchy and Skyler look like an idiot for putting up with it. The amount of casual misogyny that the girls in this book put up with and mostly just laughed at was, I have no other word for it, disgusting.

Black Number Four was a fun read about a group of college kids in Florida. Skyler and Kip, while holding huge secrets from each other, find themselves pulled together. This book finds these two college juniors reaching out to find themselves and what they really want to do with life and each other. I look forward to more from this crew!

I enjoyed this book. It took me back to college. It's a sweet story about a sorority girl that plays poker and a boy with the mission to figure out how to beat her. After all the games they play, can they take a chance on love?

3.5 stars!
It was a good book, I liked the characters but not so their love story. I liked how cool the female lead was and it makes me wish I knew how to play poker lol
Definitely worth a try to read it!

Yet again this PSU crew has got me fully submerged in that Greek life on campus. More drama, lies, secrets, and sex makes for angst-filled entertainment that I can't get enough of.

It was interesting doing the tandem read since the timelines match up between the two books.

Where Legacy follows the whole crew, Black Number Four zeros in on Skyler and Kip with a more in-depth look at their storyline.

Now on to Season 5 where hopefully there is some resolution to be had between Erin and Bear.

So this was like a time capsule. The dialog and some of the pop culture references really took me back to like 2015. I now know that is a time that I don't want to go back to.
