I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book based on the back but I felt like I was constantly waiting for the two main characters to actually become rivals. Due to the inherent power dynamic between them, it never felt like they were truly on equal grounds to the point of being rivals. It felt more like Jada was constantly trying to get to that level while the systemic issues at play kept getting in the way, which makes sense but it wasn't what I thought I was getting.

I received this ARC from Netgalley. This book was about Suzanne and Jada and their achieving Suzanne’s dream of becoming a Ziegfeld girl. Jada was Suzanne’s assistant. Suzanne achieved her dream of being a Ziegfeld girl and achieves her dream of acting with Bert Williams, an African American actor. The play was being threatened by another actress because she was afraid of being fired. I loved this book. I highly recommend it

Very well written with a lot of historical background. The ending was a little lackluster and rushed but overall was a good read.

Sweet, fun, easy to read glamor with a bit of mystery!
