This book was the perfect wrap up to Keris and Zarrah’s story. It was cleverly written between the villain and scheming and romance that this book had me in a vise grip. It was an absolute roller coaster of emotions, plot twists, and action. And on top of it all, Zarrah and Keris each have so much self reflection and growing. Zarrah by far goes through so many brutal physical and mental battles that I don’t know how she managed it through this story. And Keris also learning what he wants and the type of King he plans to be for his people and how all of his schemes come to fruition in the best of all ways. These two are truly star-crossed lovers, constantly suffering yet their trust in each others love is what holds them together and allows for the peace of the nations to come together. I also LOVED the amount of Lara x Aren we got in this book and I’m so happy to have my favorites back (sry Keris and Zarrah…). Jensen knows how to write a romantic fantasy, with the perfect amount of real and believable substance that makes the romance, spice, intensity, and everything in between so addictive. I love this series with all of my heart.

I love this serie but this last book was very repetitive.

bro the way it all come together wowww i was impressed, both in the climax of the action as well as the romance. the resolution too, considering the set up and how much it's impressed into the reader about the logistics of how it can't work between them, worked rly well. its like the more stakes and tension keeping the characters apart means more to be done to make it work without being contrived or unrealistic for what set up is given already, and here the way it played out makes a lot of sense for the characters and world
