Got 1.5 chapters in. I did not vibe with either character, or their dynamic. I love cheesy romance, but this was too cringe even for me. Love the non-binary representation but the writing style wasn’t for me.

sorry to my english degree this book was so good though

Every year, around this exact same time, I fall into what I've started calling the Romance Slump, in which for some reason, despite the book being perfectly fine and despite me being interested in it, it takes me eleven thousand years to read a book (which for some reason is always a romance) and by the time I'm finished it the only thought left in my brain is "what is wrong with me that that took eleven thousand years to finish?" Having said all that, yes! There were things I really enjoyed about this book, even if it didn't completely bowl me over with greatness. I thought it had some important things to say, and appreciated that the dreaded Third Act Conflict (the downfall of so much of my enjoyment of certain books!) made a lot of sense and felt realistic in the moment.

Cute, fluffy read. Romcom-meets-reality tv. Never a bust.
