This was a really sweet book with very little angst.
Both MCs are super likeable and I loved Elijah's character development. He comes across as weak and shy but during the whole book he surprised me. I loved how strong he grew. And Cole was so supportive and loving, just what was needed. If you want something to warm the heart this should be one of your choices

This cover is depective. It suggests that it's a spicy book with little plot (in my opinion). The only reason I downloaded it was that I've read one of the author's books and loved it.

This book is so much more than the cover suggests. It's a bit of a coming of age story where the younger MMC (it's an age gap romance), learn to accept himself and declare who he is unashamedly.

It's a taboo student/ professor relationship with 10+ years between them. The MMCs live different realities. Cole (the professor) has a very understanding family who are accepting of who he is. Eli has the opposite. His family is conservative, his father is a priest and pretty much shunned him when he found out Eli was gay. But then 2 years later, Eli moved away to college and made friends who encouraged him to accept who he is an be proud. That was nice to see.

The narrators did a great job portraying the different characters especially with all the emotions that were flying around this book. Their female voices were pretty good and they played out the spice scenes really well.

If you want a spicy book with some heavier topics, and you like taboo romance, this is a good book for you.

If you don't like taboo romances, you should probably pass on this.

A beyond beautiful taboo story of two lovely souls, who try to stay away from each other … and fail spectacularly.
Elijah, the stunning, bright young man, is starting King University and for the first time in his life enjoys the freedom from his troubled home life. Cole, the attractive, esteemed history professor literally crashes into Eli during a morning run and while there is undeniable mutual attraction, neither men can act on it. Cole cannot, in good conscience, entertain lustful thoughts about his new student … while Elijah’s shyness prevents him from looking at Cole with anything but respect for his teacher. Throughout Marley’s signature writing style that pulls on all your heartstrings, you get to follow their story as their adoration towards each other grows. When their love is exposed to the world, it threatens to break both of their hearts along with Cole’s career and Eli’s future. There were uncountable tender, loving, and steamy moments in this book that showed just how Elijah was Cole’s perfect fantasy … and how Cole’s unquestionable support and guidance helped Elijah grow in every way. I was wishing for more and more stolen moments and could barely put down the book until I got to their well-deserved HEA.

Holy hotness!

Wowza! Marley Valentine is heating up kindles everywhere! Devilry has definitely done its job! I have a mischievous smirk and glazed eyes thinking of all the deliciously dirty fun. This isn't just a roll in the hat though, Devilry is a romance story through and through. This student teacher romance is a whirlwind of unexpected joy.

The level of heat and hotness depends on your particular imagination in conjuring up the mental image to go with Ms. Valentine's words. I myself had zero trouble imagining but plenty of trouble keeping quiet about it.

❣️ Delicious, forbidden, age gap, student/teacher romance.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗳.

Cole Huxley is a new professor at King University and Elijah Williams is a scholarship student from a super religious town. These two have undeniable chemistry from their meet cute and that amazing tension carried throughout the entire story.

Y’all. Cole was enamored with Elijah. For a man who NEVER did relationships, he was so hung up on his sweet boy and I ADORED it. For example, Elijah had to spend his birthday with his friends…but Cole showed up at the restaurant with his own colleagues so he could be close and share heated looks. SO FRIGGIN CUTE. Until the drama, but y’all again, NO 3rd act breakup. 👏🏻👏🏻

𝗜 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝗜 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱. 𝗥𝗮𝘄. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱. 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝘁. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲.

Seriously, the writing was fantastic, the romance was swoon-worthy, the emotions were beautiful, and this entire love story left a big smile on my face. Cole and Elijah has a beautiful development and once again I’m reminded how Marley can so effortlessly weave together the best romances.
