I really enjoyed this book. It was terrifying in its obscurity and simplicity. It left everything to imagination which somehow made it more scary and impactful. I feel all people today should read this book. It helped me appreciate the little freedoms that I take for granted.

She drops these one liners in the writing from time to time that are incredible however I wasn’t gripped needing to find out what happened next until the last 100 pages. Overall enjoyed her writing style. I think because the subject matter has grown closer and closer to our reality since the 80s it was harder to read than other dystopian books. Or maybe I’ve grown to recognize how dystopian stories are so similar to our own world? Either way I’m ready for my next book to be escapist.
