Very likeable, charming characters. Plot was missing just a touch of something that would have bumped the star rating up; probably wanted better resolution on one of the plot points, unless it’s a set-up for something in the future. Standard historical romance novel with characters that made it enjoyable

technically i should rate lower but that's not the vibe 😌🫳🏻✨
look i just love me some fake dating and this was it (in a way but i'll take it)
i loved how they slowly started falling for eachother and that the discovery of the lie wasn't a huge blown out of proportions yelling match or something
definitely think she should've told him earlier but yk what she had a nicer place to stay, man to bed, and some more monies. i'm not gonna fault her for that. we support women's rights and wrongs in this household. plus she needed a way to get info on her brother!!
honestly im enjoying this prequel bridgerton series more than the actual bridgerton series

Review might be biased bc I didn’t expect to like this book. Premise seemed too complicated. But, overall, it was well done.

Overall,
This was ok. Not my favorite of Julia Quinn's. I think that is a me problem though. I really dont like lies and secrets between FMC and MMC. Miscommunication is just not my cup of tea. With that said the "while he was sleeping trope" gave reasons. This was pretty predictable. I will still read the rest of the Rokesbys, hopefully this was just a lark
