I love Drew. I really like this book. A good free flowing read, which I think she'd be happy with. Can we make mixtapes for each other, Drew?

I loved reading about her life, but my personal preference would have been a more organized or chronological timeline of events. But that’s just me, and this writing style feels like it adequately reflects who Drew is.
funny lighthearted slow-paced

Interesting stories from the life experience of Drew Barrymore told irreverently and in a funny style. Nothing too heavy, easy read. Not going to change your life but worth a read.

Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite actresses. She has such an upbeat, sunny personality and her attitude shined through in this memoir. Drew does not follow a timeline or go into great detail in this book. She gives us little glimpses on different periods of her life. She does not focus on the bad in her life (especially her childhood) and still finds some good in her parents, even though they were never very good in that department. All that she has been through, she has taken as learning experiences and seems determined to do good for the world and her two young daughters. I enjoyed the chapter on Adam Sandler. I think they are the perfect romantic comedy couple. A few chapters had me teary eyed. It was also sad to think that shortly after this book was written, Drew and her husband divorced. I do hope that Drew has found happiness in her life and I look forward to her future projects.
This was my surprise read for April, picked by my daughter Carina.
