First, I want to start out with a bit of a backhanded complaint/compliment. I LOVE the cover, it's so pretty! However, it doesn't reflect the characters at all. The guys on the cover are beautiful, but they look to be mid twenties, tops, and both the MCs in the book are around 40-41. So, pretty cover, but doesn't fit.

But for all positive, I really enjoyed this book! It was funny and a bit quirky, the mystery wasn't (for me, at least) too predictable, and I really hope for more from these guys.

I haven’t read Poe in ages, and this story just points out that I need to rectify that.

This starts with Aubrey. He’s very excited for almost boyfriend Jun to come visit as they have been circling each other for a very long time and this little get together will hopefully solidify things. However, right before their vacation is to begin, Aubrey finds an old skeleton in the historic house he manages and basically starts a chain reaction of murder and mayhem.

So, if you like mysteries, the promise of a pirate’s treasure, and two people who are gaga for each other then this was a quick fun adventure! Aubrey is a chatty spit fire narcoleptic, and Jun is a dreamy stoic G-man that really made me sit up and pay attention. For me, Jun was the best part of this book - strong capable protective and just oh so perfect! Aubrey is one lucky guy!

Though this is loosely connected to Poe’s well loved Snow & Winter series (which I haven’t read), I was not lost one bit. I’m only sad there isn’t more stories with this duo. Darn!

I can't help but love this book! Its funny, a thrill to read, and features a snarky, tatted and pierced narcoleptic manager of a historic home by the name of Aubrey Grant that makes it all the better. It's a wild ride from start to finish, and one I couldn't put down until I was done.

It was ok… but then I read it just after finishing a 5* book, so that always makes it tough. I like the mystery quite a lot, being an art history person myself, but the romance wasn’t there for me, and there were a few times when I just did not believe the characters would do the things they did in the story.

Also, as interesting as the narcolepsy was, I did think there was maybe a bit too much emphasis on it? Though if accurate it did teach me a fair bit about narcolepsy I didn’t know!

Historian & FBI agent mcs, Key West and lots of Florida talk, Wyatt Baker did a great job narrating this. There's a bit of a pirate treasure hunt going on in this, some murder, but ultimately the plot fell a little bit flat for me. There's humor throughout this that I'm not sure if I liked or just was included

Mystery buddy read with my buddy @iman

This was a fun a cozy adventure by our slightly annoying and impulsive Mc Aubrey and his hot fbi boyfriend.

The writing is funny and interactive
I was not bored by every seconds of it
Maybe just sometimes when I'm trying to figure it out the pirate history part but I managed to understand at the end.

I was listening to the audiobook and I think Wyatt baker did a pretty good job with the narration.
