Belle Morte was an intriguing book to start with. The idea that Vampires are celebrities made sense to me. People are obsessed with vampires so going in I felt like that it would be a good story.

I loved the main character, Renie. Her love for her sister is something I always enjoy in books but I don’t love that we have a hundreds year old vampire as her Insta-love interest. It’s just something that’s been done before.

It did like that the vampires could be down right scary at times. I think that’s how they should be in the eyes of a human. They felt very other worldly. But for me the pacing of this book felt off, it took me a long time to get into and I’m just really not a fan of Insta-love. It’s not real and it doesn’t happen in real life all that often, if ever.

I gave it 3 stars for being interesting enough for me to finish. I wanted to know what happened to her sister but i wish the romance pulled me in a bit more.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for proving me with this ARC for my honest review!

“There’s not a thing more lonely than immortality.”

Well, this was an experience for sure. This was my first Wattpad read, and tbh it’s exactly what you would expect. Insta-love, a main character that it’s not like other girls, a love interest that likes her because she is in fact not like other girls, and so much more things that I hate in books. This is of course my personal preference, if you think this is your kind of read go for it, you’ll have a lot of fun with it.

The premise was interesting, specially if you like vampire stories; but the execution wasn’t for me.

That scene of Jason and Gideon had me on my knees tho.

3.5 I enjoyed this book. It was what I was expecting from a ya vampire romance. I wild definitely call this ya. We will see how much romance happened further in the series, but this was book would have been rated PG. I was alittle disappointed with how fast the mystery in the book was uncovered. I was expecting a little bit more Scooby-Doo corridor sluthing and even after the first mystery they give you like a second one. However never really address it and I think they should have before the big reveal. With the atmosphere of this book and the setting if there had been a little bit more suspense and mystery involved this could have been a really strong Gothic story.

If you’re look for a quick fun read this is it. I’d describe it as a mystery fantasy. There are so many twists and turns in this book. Some I could predict but the major things that counted I couldn’t which is a rare for me, which I enjoyed a lot. The slow burn romance was everything I didn’t know I needed on top of the main storyline. I so need a second book!!!
