The Big Short for the COVID pandemic

He really has a talent for explanation and for finding characters, but this one suffers from the defect of any COVID book; none of us know how it ends, so there's no way to wrap it up

Wow, interesting and sad due to failures committed early in this pandemic.

SO GOOD. And quite the damning reflection on the CDC.

The names are hard to keep straight at times, but otherwise an enthralling (and infuriating book). Highly recommend for some additional perspective as we continue to be forced to live under the thumb of this pandemic.

Compelling stories from beyond headlines ... but I only made it about half way through before deciding COVID burnout still has me in its grasp and can't subject myself to more on the topic.

Depressing and extremely frustrating, but fascinating. What will we learn from all of this? Sadly, probably nothing.

This book really pissed me off. We don't have to be where we are right now, with people in a first world county dying of ignorance and misinformation. If the people in charge had listened to the people who do this sort of thing for a living, we could be COVID-free. Thousands of lives would have been saved. I don't know how they sleep at night.
