I loved this compilation of short stories. It was a very good mix of scary tales and thought provoking endings.
a very solid anthology of Stephen King stories. Highlights included: The Man in the Black Suit, The Little Sisters of Eluria, the title story, 1408, and Riding the Bullett
"The Road Virus Heads North" was by far my favorite one in this. "Autopsy Room Four" & "1408" were also really good. Upon reading "Lunch at the Gotham Cafe", I now understand when my husband decided to yell "eeeee!" at me randomly one day. Which is prompted me reading this book because I didn't know what he was talking about and he shoved the book into my hand. Overall, a good read. There were one or two I was bored with but not bored enough that I quit the book.

A few stories were interesting, most were just “okay” and some were flat out boring and underwhelming.

I thought Ride the Bullet was probably one of the better ones, but none of these stories are bad. I also really enjoyed 1408.
Comes close to the old school King that I remember reading voraciously as a kid. I think King's best form is the short story or maybe even expanding to a novella (The Mist and 4 seasons are great).
