A great collection of stories. There was really only one I didn't care for. This collection along with Skeleton Crew are King's best, in my opinion.
Room 1408 - 4
Everything’s Eventual - 3
Lucky Quarter - 2
The Little Sisters of Aloria - 3
In The Death Room - 2
Autopsy Room 4 - 5
Lunch at the Gotham cafe - 4
The Road Virus Heads North - 1
The Man in the Black Suit - 3
Death of Jack Hamilton- 3
That Feeling You Can Only Say What It is in French - 4
All That You Will Love Will be Carried Away - 1
Riding the Bullet - 4
Night Shift still remains Stephen King’s best short story collection

Night Shift still remains Stephen King’s best short story collection
A very good collection of Stephen King's short stories. A couple were downright chilling. I really liked his prologue on the book, as well as his narrative of the history of the stories included in this volume.
I originally wanted to read this book because it houses The Little Sisters of Eluria and I am gearing up to start reading The Dark Tower Series. The Little Sisters is the prequel to the King's The Gunslinger the first book in the series.
I'm so glad I hate to miss anything, otherwise, if it weren't for my compulsive nature of having to read things in order, I might have missed this wonderful volume of goose-bumping, oh-crap did that just happen, read with the lights on book.

As usual with collections like this, you win some and you lose some. I do wonder if King is able to actually write a “short” story anymore—most of these are much longer. That said, there are some true gems: 1408 is creepy and intense, Gotham Cafe is probably the best sheer adrenaline rush I’ve had reading a story in a while, and it’s always a pleasure to reunite with Roland of Gilead.
My first Stephen King. I started reading it on a train, read most of it in the middle of the night, and finished it in my parent’s cabin in the woods (all felt like the most appropriate settings.)
Truly, the most memorable portion will be the forward, where I fell head over heels in love with the author. But each story was a joy.

I never thought I'd consider myself a King fan, but here we are. The man was given a real talent, and he uses it well. My favorite stories are The Man in the Black Suit and Riding the Bullet. I do wonder, however, if he will ever update/revise the titular story, due to the appropriation of a certain charged word.
But this is pretty much King being King doing what he does for fourteen short stories.
