"The first collection of stories Stephen King has published since Nightmares & Dreamscapes nine years ago, Everything's Eventual includes one O. Henry Prize winner, two other award winners, four stories published by The New Yorker, and "Riding the Bullet," King's original e-book, which attracted over half a million online readers and became the most famous short story of the decade.
"Riding the Bullet," published here on paper for the first time, is the story of Alan Parker, who's hitchhiking to see his dying mother but takes the wrong ride, farther than he ever intended. In "Lunch at the Gotham Café," a sparring couple's contentious lunch turns very, very bloody when the maître d' gets out of sorts. "1408," the audio story in print for the first time, is about a successful writer whose specialty is "Ten Nights in Ten Haunted Graveyards" or "Ten Nights in Ten Haunted Houses," and though Room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel doesn't kill him, he won't be writing about ghosts anymore. And in "That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is In French," terror is déjà vu at 16,000 feet." (From Amazon)

A good collection of Stephen King stories.
Favorite stories: Autopsy Room Four, L. T.'s Theory of Pets, The Road Virus Heads North, 1408, & Riding the Bullet
Another mixed bag with some great stories and some real stinkers.
Autopsy Room Four: 5/5. This story put a new fear into me, getting cut up while I'm still alive. It's really quite macabre and terrifying in just the right ways.
The Man in the Black Suit: 4.5/5. This one is also terrifying. The Man in the Black Suit is freaky. He reminds me of some kind of weird cryptid or urban legend that would teach kids not to talk to strangers, I just wish it was longer. It reminded me of the episode of The Twilight Zone, Escape Clause where that guy meets the devil and tries to prevent his death.
All That Love Will Be Carried Away: 3/5. What was this one about again?
The Death of Jack Hamilton: 3/5. A nice mob story.
In the Deathroom: 2.5/5. Didn't really pique my interest, it's kinda like the boring parts of what I imagine Narcos is like.
The Little Sisters of Eluria: 4/5. I thoroughly enjoyed this for the Dark Tower stuff.
Everything's Eventual: 2.5/5. The titular story's pretty forgettable.
L.T.'s Theory of Pets: 3.5/5. A nice exploration of the relationships between pets and humans.
The Road Virus Heads North: 5/5. Maybe my favorite story of the bunch. It's genuinely creepy and fun for so many reasons.
Lunch at the Gotham Café: 3/5. Eh...not too interesting.
That Feeling: 3.5/5. What happened in this one?
1408: 3.75/5. A less creepy version of The Shining, with a haunted hotel room and all.
Riding the Bullet: 3.5/5. A deep exploration into grief that King clearly wrote from the heart.
Luckey Quarter: 2.5/5. It's like Wedding Gig from Skeleton Crew, just plain dumb.

Well this is definitely my least favorite collection of short stories from Stephen King. Normally I really enjoy his short stories but I don’t know, most of these ones just felt a bit boring to me. I only really liked the last entry in this collection.
Many of the stories felt truncated. As a novelist I enjoy Stephen King very much, but I'm not sure about the short stories. Some of them were quite good, but none of them blew me away.

Second time listening to the audio book and I appreciated different stories from the first time I read it in 2016. A select few stories still stand the test of time.
